TSK - Tilly - Layout and Process Video

Hi guys, it's Kayla with a  layout and process video share for you today.
I absolutely adored the eclectic mix of papers and embellishments in this month's scrappery kit.

I decided to make a layout about my son so that you can see while the kit does feature a lot of pinks, it can still be gender neutral!

When I begin a layout I usually have my photo pre picked and a basic idea of how I want things. I have a style..I think every one does even if they say they don't! So I tend to pick a basic more neutral background (which in this case was the My Minds Eye Wood Paper- this stuff is awesome) I then knew that I would be layering lots of patterns behind my photo - what can I say? I'm a paper addict!

I decided to theme the page around my son being a little heart breaker. I know that I am really biased because he is my son - but I do think he is pretty damn cute. I think we are going to have to ward the girls away. In fact at my mother's a group a couple of the Mum's are already calling Elijah their daughter's future husband. Haha!
I am trying to get better at making funny and interesting titles, because I so easily fall into the trap of just naming the page..."i love you' or 'elijah' or something else that I haven't put much thought into.

I really wanted to type on the Chic tags label stickers but my typewriter didn't arrive in time. I do think it's important however to include some handwriting in your albums. After all, your handwriting is a memory and I think it preserves a bit of who you are and makes it personal. I didn't have too much to say in the form of words for this page as I felt that the picture spoke to words.

One word of warning for using this particular paper is that it isn't as porous (spelling?) as normal patterned paper and so if you plan to use mists or mediums it takes a lot longer to dry, so I do have some smudges but I went with the 'it was on purpose' excuse.

Finally if you want to see my process for how I put this one together, you can see the YouTube video on our Scrappery Channel or play below.

I hope you enjoyed a look at what I have made with The Scrappery Kit which sold out so quickly, we can't wait to share the next one with you!

Happy Scrapping!

JULY CYBER CROP

Hey guys, Nae back here again with another blog update. We had an amazing first cyber crop the other week. We plan to make these cyber crops a monthly event and as such, they run a little differently to other cyber crops you may have seen.

Each month we will supply everyone (subscribers and non subscribers) three challenges.. For every challenge you complete and upload you will receive one (1) point. If you win that challenge you will be awarded ten (10) points. These points accumulate and if you participate often you will be able to use these points to earn a free kit. You will need a hundred (100) points to earn a free BPK and one hundred and fifty (150) points to earn one of either our PLK or TSK.

Each month the challenges will be posted in the PEEK PARTY event page and entries will be posted to these same posts on Facebook. All entries will then be loaded into our SCRAPPERY GALLERY on Pinterest.

So now that you know the drill I hope to see you all participating and earning those free kits!!

So for July we had three completely different challenges. We were absolutely amazed by some of the work you all did and it made picking winners very difficult (especially in the SKETCH CHALLENGE).

CHALLENGE NUMBER 1: PRETTY SKETCHY
Use this sketch as inspiration for your layout. Follow it however you like and make it your own. Just stick to the main sketch. Cant wait to see your entries. Post as a response to this post before 23rd July.

Here is the sketch:

And here was our winning entry:

 photo sketch2_zpsaadf65e5.jpg

Congratulations Charm on an amazing entry! We just loved it! You can see the rest of the entries for this challenge in our PRETTY SKETCHY Pinterest Gallery. Charm has won herself 10 points to add to her total.

CHALLENGE NUMBER 2: COLOUR BETWEEN THE LINES
Pick one of the colour combos from tonights peek party and create a layout (or PL spread) using it. You can use as many, or as little of the colours as you like but I would love to see mostly the colour from the Colour Peeks used. Please only use one combo.

These were the colour combos the participants had to work with:

August PLK Colour Combo

 photo colour2_zpsb911d06b.jpg
August TSK Colour Combo

Everyone chose to go with the August TSK Combo which just confirms how much people love pink! That made me very happy lol. So anyway onto the winner:

Congratulations Alyce! We just loved your Project Life take on the challenge. The colours just work really well together and we just love how you mixed and matched different collections to create a complete story.

You can see the rest of the entries for this challenge in our COLOUR BETWEEN THE LINE Pinterest Gallery. Alyce has won herself 10 points to add to her total.

Finally the last challenge.

CHALLENGE NUMBER THREE: IM YELLING TIMBER!!!
This one has a little something to do with our "all wood" colour palette. We know how much wood veneer and other wood products are a huge trend in scrapbooking at the moment so what we would like for this challenge is for you to use "wood" predominately on your layout or PL layout.

Augusts BPK Colour Combo

Here is our winner!!

 photo sketch3_zps4e58e9c4.jpg

Congrats Kerry! We just loved how many different pieces and different types of wood you used on your layoyt!! Just beautiful!

You can see the rest of the entries for this challenge in our IM YELLING TIMBER! Pinterest Gallery. Alyce has won herself 10 points to add to her total.

So with that I thought I would also post at the end of each cyber crop the current standings of our lovely members and participants. This way you can keep track of your points along with us.

Name Total July CC

Kerry O'Meara 13 13
Alyce Blyth 13 13
Lydia Gibson 3 3
Melissa Smith 2 2
Kristie-Anne Bridges 1 1
Charmaine Kosch 11 11
Carmel McKee 1 1

So that should be about it for the moment. I hope you all enjoyed our PEEK PARTY and CYBER CROP!! Cant wait to do it with you all again next month!!

Remember kits go live in a few days and we cant wait to show you some of the amazing things we have lined up! xoxo

PLK - Charlotte - Project Layout and Process Video

Hey guys and welcome to the new blog and our very first The Scrappery Kit Club design and inspiration post. If you have noticed Kayla and I have decided to do things a little differently with our little kit club. Instead of having a design team straight away, we will design with the kits and provide you with a wealth of blog posts, photos and process videos to inspire your own creativity with the kits. We also hope to feature some of our amazing subscribers here on the blog and show off their works.

But for today I thought I would get the ball rolling with my first Project Life layout in a long time. With getting the business all organised and set up, I haven't had much time to play with my pretty cards. It felt so good to just sit and play and more importantly play with my new set of cards from our PLK - Pretty Little Kit

 photo CHARLOTTE1_zps3a35f6cd.jpg

The July kit, Charlotte, is full of beautiful light corals and teals and contrasted with stunning navy blues and blacks. The entire collection is made of original cards created by myself for The Scrappery Kit Club. Every month subscribers will be treated to unique card sets. I am so excited to bring this little Australian first to all of our subscribers!!

 photo CHARLOTTE11_zpsdba62e84.jpg

I found it very easy to piece together with the cards in the kit. The cards also enabled a lot of room for journalling. This is something I don't usually do a lot of in Project Life. I have always wanted to journal more as it is about capturing the everyday moments. It felt so good at the completion of this layout to know that these memories will always be here to look at an now I will actually have written notes to remind me of the times in the photos.

 photo CHARLOTTE12_zps2905c2fa.jpg

I just  love how the layout all came together as a whole. This would be one of my first layouts that I have done that hasn't worked around a particular three colour scheme. I worked more with just the cards as a whole, knowing that whatever combination I used, they would all work together as they were designed to be used in any combination. I just love the flexibility.

 photo IMG_3518_zps25f75f80.jpg

I just love title cards. Its the one place where you can really scrapbook (even if it is just on a smaller scale). I really like to dig in and create something beautiful with these title cards. This week I really loved using those SC South of Market kraft and white striped thickers. They just work with any colour combination, a great  neutral alphabet. I also dabbled in all things I normally embellish with. Mists, enamel dots, sequins, gems, doilies and I also used some of the cute gold foiled label stickers from our BPK - Bits and Pieces Kit for July, Gloria.

 photo photocollage1_zpsd5cf9e46.jpg

Here are a few more closeups of how I used the cards within the layout. I was really in love with paint splatter and brush script and so I really wanted to give it a go in this months PLK cards. The colours are soft unlike so much of the harsh blacks of traditional brush script. I also used my very first list card ever. I was so excited to get the card out and make a list of all the exciting things that had happened this week.

 photo IMG_3528_zpsce8a6449.jpg

My final piece of love on this layout was the PHOTOWALL card that I made. This week in Project Life I made a photo wall in the lounge room and hung a heap of photos on a few pieces of twine. I really loved how the whole thing turned out and had to document it. I also love how I ended up presenting this card. Once again using those great SC Thickers and a beautiful gold foil label from the PBK. The label allowed a little room for journalling but also allowed you to see all the mini photos captured in the one real photo.

As always with my blog posts and a common thing here on The Scrappery, we will be posting process videos with most of our layouts and inspiration. Click the video below and you will get to our youtube channel where you can see more amazing and inspirational layouts and process videos from both Kayla and myself.

So thats it guys, I hope you enjoyed that layout and don't forget to go over and check out The Scrappery Website and sign up for one of our amazing kits. We still have three kits left from this month so if you would like your own set of these cards you can still get your pretty little hands on them here

Thank you so much everyone for your love and support with both Kayla and myself as we start this new little adventure. I honestly had no idea this would happen so quickly but I am so happy it had. I have loved getting to know so many of you and I hope our little community continues to grow.  Please don't forget to share with us your creations you make with our kits, we would love to share them in our Pinterest gallery.

Don't forget this week we have our August Peek Party and our very first Cyber Crop. Click the link to go to the event page and join in the fun. We will have a heap of challenges to get your inspiration flowing as well as a heap of peeks for the upcoming kits in August.

A LITTLE HELLO!!

Hey guys and welcome to The Scrappery Kit Club Blog. To start things off on our new blog I thought I would post our little self introductions incase you haven't already read them.

 photo naelayout_zps63b909ce.png
RENAE FINLAYSON - SCRAPPERY OWNER

Can I just start off with saying how excited I am to finally be bringing you our very own kit club. This dream has been in the works for many months and with my best scrapping friend Kayla, we are finally able to make that dream a reality and fill your lives with pretty little things to make your scrapbooks all the more beautiful.
A little bit about myself, I would love it so much if you all called me Nae. I am 28 (almost 29 eeek) and newly engaged to the most beautiful man in the world. I am sure some of you have heard of him and even seen him in some of my layouts and process videos. I started scrapbooking when I was about 19 years old. I was fortunate enough to live with a Scrapbook store owner and her family in my final year of university and it just concreted that this hobby, was to become my life. Everyone else didnt seem to think so however and as I started to “grow up” I lost time for the pretty things.
I am an ex teacher (of only five years). I taught in NSW and then for two years in Northern Japan teaching English. It was one of the most amazing experiences of my life and also one of the most life changing. I was unfortunate enough to be in Northern Japan during the March 11, 2011 earthquake, tsunami and nuclear disaster. It was a time of so much uncertainty and it was because of this experience I decided to return to scrapbooking.

But that wasnt the only thing that brought me back to the craft I loved. After meeting my fiancee in 2013, he really pushed me to start enjoying life and doing the things I loved. First it was my music and trying to (and still trying) to relearn piano. He also really wanted me to try scrapbooking again and it was then that I discovered Project Life. Being a traditional scrapbooker originally, I was a little sceptical of the system but as soon as I created my first page I was absolutely hooked! Now I can’t imagine scrapbooking any other way.
Project Life scrapbooking is a great way to capture the everyday, to document the little moments in life. I cant wait for the day that I have children and they can look back at the years before they were born. I have always been an avid memory keeper and even when I wasn’t scrapbooking, I hosted a few youtube channels and vlogged my daily life.
The aim of The Scrappery Kit Club, is to provide Australians the same privileges that Americans have so readily available to them. Exclusive, beautiful designs with the most original and unique products available. We are about making the everyday beautiful and I hope that you can come join us on our Scrappery Story and make everyday beautiful. Thank you so much for believing and supporting us.

KAYLA RENEE MACAULAY - SCRAPPERY OWNER

Hi my name is Kayla and I am so excited you have found our awesome kit club. Renae and I met years ago now (scary to think it has been that long) and now we have joined forces to bring you the funkiest kits around.
So who am I? Some days I do not even really know the answer to that question. I’m a fiancé, a new mum, a crafter and a university student. My fiancé Adam and I live in a beautiful little coastal town called Penguin on the North West Coast of Tasmania. We are parents to a beautiful little baby boy named Elijah who was born in February this year and also parents to our fur baby Louie the Beaglier.
Besides working in the craft industry I have also worked as an apprentice chef and no it is absolutely nothing like what you see on Masterchef…think of what it would be like to work with Gordan Ramsey and there you have the description of my previous job role. I decided to discontinue my apprenticeship and strive to meet a dream I never thought I could accomplish – to become a teacher.

So in between copious amount of coffee, a crying baby, a needy fiancé (wink) and crafting time I also study! The busy days in my life are also part of the reason I scrapbook. I know people say they scrapbook to note the everyday memories but I also scrapbook just for the pure therapeutic nature of the hobby. It is nice when the baby has gone to bed to just sit and play with paper and glue! Of course the memory maker in me also wants to document the special things that happen, especially now I have a son and I realise just how quickly and easily it is to forget things they do, say (well not quite yet for Elijah) and learn. I am also a self confessed product junkie! I love scrap shopping. I think that I could wallpaper the entire house ten times over with the amount of patterned paper I own. I can just never have enough.
I absolutely can not wait to share the pure awesomeness that The Scrappery Kit Club will bring. We have poured so much love into creating kits that shine with creativity. I hope you will come along to share the journey. x
